Synopsis
Years after their first visit to the animal rescue shelter, a family returns with their now seven-year-old daughter and deliberately guides her past exotic pets, kittens and puppies toward the adult animals. At an older black Labrador’s open cage, the parents give the girl photographs of the dog and their own aging dog with a handwritten note reading “I NEED A FRIEND,” allowing her to act independently on the value she learned years earlier.
